Fueled by a lifetime fascination with manned spaceflight and frustrated with Australia’s lack of a space program, I have developed my own DIY backyard space expedition agency. Contact Light chronicles my homemade journey into the unknown to document and recount a fictional cosmic odyssey.
The solo exhibition serves as a nostalgic reflection to the many homemade cardboard spaceships and spacesuits of my childhood and a tribute to movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and Star Wars that fostered in me a lifelong fascination with space in both reality and fiction.
